New guidelines have been issued by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) on the diagnosis of PCOS. These guidelines not only support clinicians in identifying PCOS but also form the foundation for Woost’s operations. We are dedicated to staying current and rigorous in our adherence to the clinical gold standard.
The guidelines highlight three key criteria for diagnosing PCOS:
Clinical and/or biochemical signs of hyperandrogenism (such as excess hair growth or abnormal hormone levels).
Ovulatory dysfunction (e.g. irregular menstrual cycles).
Polycystic ovarian morphology on ultrasound (the presence of cysts on the ovaries).
We at Woost urge any women that suspects PCOS to see a doctor urengtly!
